The Missing Curriculum

What we should have learned in school.

WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) - Copeland Centre

The Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a self-designed prevention and wellness process that anyone can use to get well, stay well, and make their life the way they want it to be. It was developed in 1997 by a group of people who were searching for ways to overcome their own mental health issues and move on to fulfilling their life dreams and goals. It is now used extensively by individuals and organizations worldwide to address all kinds of physical, mental, and life issues.

What We Value

Strengths-Based Supports

Strengths-based supports emphasize an individual's inherent strengths and external resources, providing access to opportunities rather than focusing on limitations.

We focus on fostering a positive self-image and increasing awareness of available resources to support an individual's ability to overcome challenges. The goal is to build self-empowerment by recognizing and leveraging one’s own abilities, skills, and capacities.

This perspective highlights the potential for personal growth and development by harnessing these strengths.

Education

We believe that exploring Wellness & Recovery concepts will provide fundamental tools for personal growth and development. Most of our programs are evidence-based and have been tailored to provide students with the ability to make their own choices as to what their path to wellness will be. Please ask us about our custom courses if that is something that you are interested in.

Empowerment

Our ultimate goal is to empower individuals by providing them with the tools and confidence they need to manage their own mental health effectively. We are dedicated to supporting anyone eager to develop a personalized wellness plan, guiding them every step of the way as they take charge of their well-being.

Skills We Should Have Learned In School

Our educational approach emphasizes self-determination and self-management.  We focus on fostering skills that support participants in effectively navigating their own best mental health. We believe in a strengths-based approach and as a result we focus on potential and resilience skills rather than diagnoses.

Our courses offer a platform for transformative experiences that promote personal well-being and community support. Participants are encouraged to explore their capabilities in a supportive environment, learning from both professionals and peers who share similar experiences. This dual approach helps to destigmatize mental health issues and builds a strong community of informed advocates who support each other’s growth and recovery.

The impact of our education can extend through generations, as empowered individuals become advocates and educators themselves, spreading knowledge and support within their families and communities.

Graduates are equipped with knowledge, practical tools and a supportive network, enabling them to make a significant difference in both their lives and the lives of others. Through our commitment to quality mental health education, we are building a legacy of resilience, empowerment, and positive change.
